1. Access. Your registration entitles you to access to the Virtual Event for which you have registered. You agree not to sell, trade, transfer, assign, share or in any way allow any third party to use your complimentary access link and/or code. We reserve the right to, at our sole discretion, remove you from the Virtual Event at any time before or during the Virtual Event.
2. Disruptive Conduct. Everyone is expected to show respect and courtesy. The Virtual Event reserves the right and discretion to immediately remove you or to deny your participation if you and/or your participation creates a disruption or hinder the Virtual Event or the enjoyment of the Virtual Event content by other participants.
3. Virtual Event Registration Confirmation. Once you have completed your registration, you will receive your registration confirmation by email. Please ensure that your valid email is entered correctly on the registration form. Be sure to check your junk email box too in case any of your Virtual Event email(s) are caught by spam filters.
4. Virtual Event and Content. You acknowledge and agree that we reserve the right to change, add and/or remove any and all aspects of the Virtual Event at our sole discretion, including but not limited to any and all content, program, speakers, moderators, venue, and time.
5. Recording and Live Streaming of Event. By participating in the Virtual Event you acknowledge and agree to grant us the right to record any and all live-streaming sessions in any media which may be hereafter developed to distribute, broadcast, or use, in perpetuity.
6. Intellectual Property. All Intellectual Property (as defined below) rights in the content, materials and files uploaded to the virtual platform or in connection with the Virtual Event are owned by the party who uploaded them. You warrant and represent that the content, materials and files provided to us and/or uploaded to the virtual platform do not infringe any intellectual and industrial property rights, including any rights in relation to inventions, patents, copyrights, registered and unregistered trademarks (including service marks), registered and unregistered designs and know-how (“Intellectual Property”). You shall indemnify the us, our directors, officers and affiliates from and against any and all infringement of Intellectual Property rights claims, including any costs, charges and expenses in respect thereof. You grant us and our affiliates a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, unconditional and royalty free license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, integrate or develop the Intellectual Property in connection with the Virtual Event. In any event, we reserve the right (and you shall grant such right) to retain and use all uploaded materials in the virtual platform for a period of one (1) year from the end of the Virtual Event for reporting purposes.
7. Privacy and Use of your Personal Data. By registering online and clicking on the register button, you acknowledge that you have read this privacy statement and NTU Privacy Statement (“the Privacy Statements”), and you consent and agree to how Nanyang Technological University (“NTU”) and its successors and assigns may collect, use and disclose your personal data for one or more of the following purposes:
(a) process your registration to participate in the Event and administer and manage your participation in the Event (including for the administration, promotion and marketing of it) (“Participation”);
(b) formulating and executing outreach and engagement to garner support and resources for NTU, its community and affiliated institutions as well as communicating to you, performing, dealing with, facilitating and/or administering fund raising activities; and
(c) any other purposes as we may seek (and obtain) your consent for from time to time.
(collectively, the “Purposes”).
We may need to disclose your personal data to third parties, whether located within or outside Singapore, for one or more of the above Purposes as such third parties would be processing your personal data for one or more of the above Purposes.
You have the right to withdraw your consent given hereunder, whether in part or as a whole. However, your withdrawal of consent could mean that we will not be able to continue to process your Participation. Should you wish to withdraw your consent, please send an email to the University Advancement Office at uao-infomgt@ntu.edu.sg.
8. Limitation of Liability.
a) This Virtual Event and virtual platform are provided and organised on an “as-is” basis. The views, opinions, and positions expressed by the speakers, attendees, or sponsors at the Virtual Event are theirs alone and do not necessarily reflect our views, opinions, or positions or any of our employees.
b) We make no representations as to the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, suitability, or validity of any information presented by speakers, attendees, sponsors and/or any other persons at the Virtual Event and will not be liable for any errors, omissions, mistakes or delays in respect of such information, or any losses, injuries, or damages arising from the display and/or use of the same.
c) You understand and are aware that the internet is not a fully secure medium and we do not accept any liability for any injury, loss or damage incurred by use of any virtual platform, live chat-text platform, public forum and/or for any loss sustained by you for any reason whatsoever.
d) You should be extremely careful when disclosing any information in any live chat-text platform or any public forum, and that we will not be responsible in any manner whatsoever for the use by others of such information so disclosed.
e) We shall not, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, be liable to you for any direct and/or indirect loss whatsoever. Indirect loss here shall include the loss of profit or revenues, loss of use of any products or services, cost of capital, loss of business opportunity, loss of reputation, loss of contract, failure to meet contractual commitments or deadlines, downtime costs, increased expense of operation, loss of or corruption of any data, or any incidental, indirect, punitive, special or consequential losses or damages of any kind whatsoever.
f) You shall indemnify, defend and hold us, our directors, officers and affiliates harmless from and against any and all claims, losses, damages, liabilities, suits, judgments and expenses in connection with, either directly or indirectly, the Virtual Event, your breach of any terms and conditions herein, your breach of any rules set by us from time to time, any goods or services or the use or incorporation of it, and/or from any act or omission by you and/or your representatives, to the extent such claims, losses, damages, liabilities, suits, judgments and expenses are caused by, result from or attributable to your and/or your representatives’ negligent or intentional acts or omissions.
9. Rules. You shall abide by any and all rules which we may set from time to time.
10. Governing law. These terms and conditions, including its validity and interpretation, are governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of Singapore.
